The Nick Saban documentary is Saban, a six-part ESPN Original docuseries. All six episodes have streamed on the ESPN app since the premiere on Thursday, October 8, 2026, and ESPN is also airing the episodes on TV, one at a time, through November 5. It isn't on Netflix, Prime Video or HBO Max: ESPN's announcement names only ESPN and the ESPN app.

Information checked: October 10, 2026, against ESPN's official announcement. For viewers in the US.

Where to stream Saban

  • ESPN app: every episode, available since launch on October 8. You need access to ESPN in the app — an ESPN subscription such as ESPN Unlimited, or a sign-in from a TV provider that includes ESPN.
  • ESPN on TV: one episode per airing, on the schedule below.

ESPN's announcement doesn't mention Disney+ or Hulu, so if you watch ESPN through a bundle, look for Saban in the ESPN app itself.

What the series covers

Saban follows Nick Saban's career through Michigan State, LSU — where he won his first national title — and the Miami Dolphins, to his 17 seasons at Alabama, where he won six more for seven in all. It also explains "the Process", the approach to preparation and detail that defined his teams.

ESPN says the series draws on hundreds of hours of previously unseen footage and more than 70 voices, including:

  • Nick and Terry Saban, in new interviews
  • Coaches: Bill Belichick, Lane Kiffin, Steve Sarkisian and Kirby Smart
  • Former players: Tim Tebow, Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa

Who made it

Saban is an ESPN Original from ESPN and Words + Pictures, directed by Russell Dinallo. Connor Schell, Libby Geist, Aaron Cohen, Alexa Conway and Tom Rinaldi are producers, and Gabe Honig is co-executive producer and showrunner.

Watching outside the US

ESPN's announcement covers the US only. International availability hasn't been announced, so check ESPN's or your local sports broadcaster's listings where you live.
