Oppenheimer

Christopher Nolan's 2023 film was released by Universal, so it streams on Peacock, NBCUniversal's service. It's free with ads in Fandango's free section (how Fandango streaming works), and you can rent or buy it in 4K from Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango. JustWatch showed no leaving date when we checked.

The Social Network

Searches for David Fincher's 2010 film rose as its follow-up, Aaron Sorkin's The Social Reckoning — with Jeremy Strong as Mark Zuckerberg — opened in theaters on October 9, 2026. You can stream the original on MGM+, the Criterion Channel, Philo and YouTube TV, or free with ads on Tubi, YouTube and Fandango's free section. Its listings on Fubo and the MGM+ Amazon channel are marked as leaving in about three weeks.

Casper

The 1995 family film starring Christina Ricci and Bill Pullman is on Hulu, Peacock and Fubo — but JustWatch shows all three removing it in about three weeks, so watch it in October if it's on your Halloween list. After that, rent or buy it from Prime Video, Apple TV or Fandango.

Corpse Bride

Tim Burton's Corpse Bride joined HBO Max on October 1 as part of its Halloween line-up and is listed as leaving around the end of the month. It can also be rented or bought. More on this month's HBO Max line-up: what's new on HBO Max.

Kicking & Screaming: two different films

  • Kicking & Screaming (2005) — the youth-soccer comedy with Will Ferrell and Robert Duvall. It isn't on any subscription service right now; you can rent or buy it from Prime Video and Apple TV. JustWatch shows its Fandango rental listing ending within days.
  • Kicking and Screaming (1995) — Noah Baumbach's debut film about college graduates. It's included with Prime Video, and free with ads on The Roku Channel, Plex and Fandango's free section. Library card holders can also watch it on Kanopy.

Megan Is Missing

Content warning: this 2011 found-footage film about the abduction of two teenage girls contains graphic depictions of sexual violence against minors, and it was banned in New Zealand. It isn't suitable for children. After it went viral on TikTok in 2020, writer-director Michael Goi posted a warning advising viewers not to watch it alone or late at night.

It isn't on any subscription service. It's free with ads on Plex, and it can be rented or bought from Prime Video, Apple TV and Fandango. If the subject matter affects you, the National Sexual Assault Hotline (RAINN) is available 24/7 at 800-656-4673.

Carrie (1976 and 2013)

  • Carrie (1976), Brian De Palma's original adaptation of Stephen King's novel, is on Prime Video and HBO Max, and free with ads on YouTube. JustWatch marks some of these listings as leaving in about three weeks.
  • Carrie (2013), directed by Kimberly Peirce, is on Prime Video and Philo, on AMC+ (marked as leaving soon), and free with ads on YouTube.
  • Carrie (2026) is Mike Flanagan's new eight-episode series, on Prime Video since October 7 — see new movies on streaming.

How we check, and why listings change

Most older films are licensed to a service for a set period, so they often arrive on the 1st of a month and leave at the end of one. We use JustWatch's US data, which records when each service was last checked, and confirm new arrivals against the services' own announcements where we can. If a film has left by the time you read this, digital rental is usually still available.

Watching on a big screen
